SXOVkidz 2023-2024

SXOV Club was founded in Veria, in 1953, and operates continuously until today. It is an active member of the Hellenic Federation of Winter Sports (EOXA) and the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering & Climbing (EOOA). Also since 2016, the Club takes part every year in “Bring Children to the Snow” campaign of the International Ski Federation (FIS), to promote winter sports and attract as many children as possible to the mountain.

Our Club is one of the oldest and most historic clubs in Greece, having showed off many great athletes in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing & biathlon. Our Club athletes have won dozens of national championships and cups, participated in Winter Olympic Games, World Cups and many other Ιnternational competitions as members of the Hellenic National Team. Our Club organized successfully a lot of FIS races at Seli ski center, just 20 km from Veria, capital city of Imathia prefecture.

Our eight months duration program, apart from the main schedule, which is ski training at ski centers during the winter season, includes several other activities for our young athletes from September to May.

As a nonprofit organization and aiming to bring as many children as possible to the magical world of snow and skiing, we offer our young athletes: discounted ski equipment, transport to ski centers for FREE, ski passes for FREE as well as accommodation in our refuge “Seli Casa Grande” at Seli ski center (just in front of the ski slopes) for FREE!!
During the season (depends on snow conditions) will be held a special event to celebrate World Snow Day !!!
Also at the end of the season will be held a race for our young athletes with gifts and prizes for all children!

Finally, like past season, we will promote environmental awareness through the ‘Protect Our Winters’ program. We will organize an event, providing the public ideas and tips for simple things they can do at home to look after their natural surroundings.
