Interview with IOC Associate Director and new SnowKidz Award Judge Irina Gladkikh
Recently FIS announced that after four editions of the SnowKidz Award, Antoine Goestchy will unfortunately depart the judging panel and be replaced by International Olympic Committee (IOC) Associate Director of Winter and Recognised Sports and IF Relations, Irina Gladkikh. FIS took a moment to speak with Irina and get her insight into the new position:
Thank you for taking the time to talk, what was your initial impression after being invited to be a SnowKidz Award judge?
I am very much honoured to be invited to be a SnowKidz Award judge. This is a great privilege and a big responsibility.
Are there any particular features of items you look forward to discovering about the events?
I am curious to see how the clubs and sport federations get the kids off the couch or away from their phones / computers and get active outside. This seems to be a growing problem and anything that kids active is a good thing.
Do you feel the information presented by the Organisers will be helpful to the International Olympic Committee?
It will certainly be useful as we are currently looking for new initiatives and programmes for the Youth Olympic games.
FIS would like to warmly thank Antoine again for his time and looks forward to working with Irina for the SnowKidz Award 2020.
