30 Days of Snowsports hits its mid point

30 Days of Snowsport campaign on a roll
As Snowsport England’s 30 Days of Snowsport passes its mid-point, 29 events across the country have already celebrated the up and coming winter season, and offered a range of snowsport opportunities for all.

From rollerski taster sessions in York to free skiing for students in Southampton to a This Girl Can roadshow in Bracknell, the campaign has created a buzz about snowsports at slopes and towns across the UK in a bid to get more people into skiing and snowboarding.

With 13 days and 28 events left to go, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved across England, and come and have a go at either skiing or snowboarding – whether a complete beginner or seasoned snowsports enthusiast.

Last weekend saw alpine racers from schools across England descend on Norfolk Ski Club for the ESSKIA National Schools Ski Championships finals, whilst up in Manchester at Chill Factore, it was the British Indoor Snowboard & Freeski Championships. Rounding off the weekend’s events saw the Oatcake Jam at Ski Kidsgrove and popular free taster sessions at SkiPlex Reading and Basingstoke.

Snowsport England Participation Development Officer Will McGlynn said: “We have seen a lot of online activity and press coverage for our 30 Days of Snowsport events, which have created a great buzz about both individual events and the overall campaign. Even better, we have seen new people giving snowsports a try at many of the events and we’re excited to see this trend continue at events until the end of October!
