5 years in the making

Cockaigne Ski Resort could re-open in 2018
A ski area in New York State that has been idea for more than five years will hopefully re-open for the 2018-19 season.

New owners have acquired Cockaigne Ski Resort in Cherry Creek which closed after a fire devastated its main base lodge at the start of 2011.
The new owners Isaac Gratto and Adam Pirtz are reported to have spent four years developing a business plan to reopen the centre and securing the financing before purchasing about 400 acres.

They will be installing new snow-making equipment and building a large new base lodge before re-opening for winter 18-19.
