Japan align to SnowKidz with huge action

Free tickets for all kids
In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s snow sports was thriving in Japan. Many of the people enjoyed regular weekend trips and access to the sport was relativitly easy. However the mid 2000 started to see a sharp decline in participation from local Japanese person. Many experts attributed this to the increased popularity in electronic gaming and economic factors. However the landscape is set to change.

Japans most well known ski resort chain Prince Hotels has made significant steps to ensuring the sports future in country. For the 2016/2017 season Prince Hotels will align with the SnowKidz program to provide children under 12 free lift passes all season long with no blackout dates.

Commencing in 2012/2013 the program has had huge success. FIS President Gian Franco Kasper commented “We are very pleased with this move from the Prince Hotels. Whilst looking like a big sacrifice we are sure this actions will bring many benefits to the resorts and the snow sports industry of Japan”.
