The first indoor snow area for Oman is set to go ahead.

The $31m Snow Park project will be part of the Palm Mall within the Entertainment City area of the capital Muscat.

The Alpine themed snow park will cover 7,000 square metres and contain a wide range of winter themed attractions including 13 snow tubing slides, kids snowmobiling, ice climbing, 3D theatre, snow diggers, snow play, snowball arena, snowball challenge, bumper cars on ice, ice skating, caving, story hut, high ropes course and so on. It is aimed to attract local inhabitants as well as tourists. Dutch company, Unlimited Snow, is responsible for the turn key development of the snow park.

The centre will be part of a range of entertainment and education attractions in the Palm Mall, which will also include a cinema and aquarium, and the facility will also include a hotel and apartments.
Construction is expected to take 20-24 months and the project is fully funded by investors from within the Sultanate.

Unlimited Snow is also presently engaged in many other projects in China, USA and Middle-East, ranging from 3.000 to 55.000 m2 of snow as part of mixed use facilities including malls, theatres, theme parks and hotels, some of which will be franchise based.
