Snow sports in Spain, Go Big or Go Home

Catalan Ski Association initiate huge project to bring children to the snow.
As the second most populated state in Spain and with nine ski resorts, Catalunya has the potential to damtically increase interest in snow sports in Spain. And who better to do this than the Catalan Ski Association.

After careful planning and discussions the Catalan Ski Associaiton (FCEH) have launched two proejcts, Winter Sports Program Barcelona and The White Sport Scholar Program. Both programs share the goal of bringing children to the snow however differ slightly in their implementation. The Winter Sports Program Barcelona will take over 2500 students from 66 schools around Barcelona and introduce them to cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and snowboarding. Meanwhile the White Scholar Program will do the same but aims to introduce 850 third and fourth grade students from around Pyrenenan region.

To activate the students both programs will provide transport from the childrens respective areas to the snow, lessons and equipment. The program is sure to attract a lot of attention and provide a big boost to snow sports in Spain. FIS encourages all schools and stakeholders to get on board!
