Zermatt increases it focus on families

Zermatt offers new family programme with big savings
Zermatt’s adult lift passes don’t come cheap, but it also has a reputation for its very generous pricing for children. Children up to 9 years old ski completely free and older children receive a big discount on the adult price. There are even savings for young adults in to their twenties.

Now the SnowKidz Organiser has announced that for overnight guests in the resort they are now also waiving any tourist tax for children up to age nine.

In addition, if parents buy a multi-day ski ticket, children aged eight or younger receive a Wolli Card, which not only provides unlimited travel on the mountain lifts but also free accommodations in various hotels and other special offers including sports equipment rental deals, children’s menus, train trips and museum admissions.

Zermatt is also expanding its off-slope activity offerings for children and youngsters as part of the family promotion, with one highlight being a new treasure hunt in the resort.

"Children are our VIPs because children are our guests for the future," said Daniel Luggen, Zermatt’s Director of Tourism.

Patrick Thorne, also known as the Snow Hunter, is an industry expert in all technical developments in snow sports. In addition to his work Patrick is also father and knows the importance and fun of kids on snow.
