SnowKidz completes 2 goals 2 years ahead of schedule.

22. November 2023
As well as setting its primary goal of bringing children to the snow, SnowKidz has set itself some clear goals in the areas of environmental conservation and safety. The deadline for the goals in both fields was set for 2025 however both goals have now been achieved 2 years ahead of schedule.

In the area of environmental conservation SnowKidz set itself the target of 100 events and actions with environmental education incorporated into events. As of the release of the 22/23 SnowKidz Season report 235 events have incorporated environmental conservation into their events. The quick turn around on this goal was boosted by the introduction of the Mountain 10 and its translation. The ease of implementation and monitoring of the steps this tool advocates helped Organisers make good steps forward.

The second goal achieved was in the area of Safety. SnowKidz set itself the goal again of 100 events and actions with safety activities inside their event programmes. Like environmental conservation, this goal was made easier through another SnowKidz tool. This time the FIS Code of Conduct for Skiers and Snowboarders. Found in 90% of resorts around the world, the 10 FIS Rules (as they are commonly known) ensure the safety of skier and snowboarders. SnowKidz Organisers took the time ensure participants are aware of the rules, what each rule means and how it is applied.

The accomplishment of these two goals are a boost for SnowKidz. The programme is on track for its remaining two goals of participation and event retention which also have the deadline of 2025. Stay tuned to SnowKidz for all the information.
