100 Percent Green Powdered

New York State’s Three Publically Owned Ski Areas To be 100% Green Powered
New York State's three state-owned ski areas are aiming to get all of their energy from renewable sources by 2030.

The pledge has been made by the state’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, a member of the Democratic Party, who said the ski areas were the flagships for a wider statewide effort to get 50% of New York state running on renewables by 2030.

Gov. Cuomo said that making the transition to green power at the ski resorts will ensure they do their part to protect the environment and stay viable for generations to come.

His state government is investing $28 million in upgrades to the three centres at Belleayre and Lake Placid’s Gore and Whiteface mountains including some money spent on solar energy projects.
